Dhaal & Chicken Korma

I love office potlucks. Mostly because they introduce to you new food, and some are so delicious you HAVE the recipe right then and there. The dhaal is simple dhal, that I love.. got this one from an old friend in college who'd brought it over when I was feeling sick. Given I was sick as a dog this week, I thought I should get some of this.. and well, I have to say it made me feel a hell lot better! Daal 3/4 cup masoor dal 1 large tomato, chopped 1 medium onion, chopped 4 sprigs spring onions, chopped 4 red chilies 6 cloves garlic, crushed 2 tbsp ghee 1/2 tsp jeera 1/2 tsp jeera powder 1/2 tsp chili powder 1/2 tsp coriander powder 1/2 tsp turmeric powder 1/2 tsp mustard seeds Salt to taste To P repare : 1. Add D al to 3 cups of water and boil for about 20 mins, till soft. While boiling add all the powders and the garlic. 2. In a pan, add ghee. Honey Chicken Wings

This goes well with potato salad/ fries / buttered rice. Can't say it suits a lot of Indian taste buds but after the first time of trying it out, I am sure you will customize it to suit your taste. I know the brother did! I have no idea where I got this recipe from, found it in my cooking scrap book from a decade or so ago.. as they say, better late than never.. (lol if you don't like it, don't say this is an exception to the saying!) Grocery List 6 chicken wings 1 tbsp light soya sauce (regular soya sauce) 1 tbsp oyster sauce 1/2 tsp salt to taste 1/4 tsp pepper 2 tbsp ginger juice 2 tbsp honey 1/2 tsp dark soya sauce 1 tbsb corn or regular vegetable oil Method 1. Place the wings in a container 2. Mix all ingredients but the corn oil, and toss well with the wings. Leave overnight to marinate in fridge. 3. Add corn oil just before popping the wings in the oven/ over a grill. 4. Pre-heat oven to 200c and leave in oven for 20/25 mins - I left it for thirty, because I wanted t
